Spectators: 5002 (Terracing: 4001, Seating: 1001, VIP seats: 0) Kristopher Pack started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in Viking Rovers's zone, Wayne Shipton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phil Guest came out of the goal and Wayne Shipton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute, Joel Mayfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Phil Guest made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wayne Shipton in the 9th minute of play. Phil Guest showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wayne Shipton in the 11th minute of the match. Jo Bloom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristopher Pack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jo Bloom came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Viking Rovers's Kristopher Pack. But to his dismay, Kristopher Pack quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ralf Silk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jo Bloom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristopher Pack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Kristopher Pack left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Viking Rovers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 39 played minutes Alne AFC got a freekick which was hit by Wayne Shipton. Benjamin Caton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Viking Rovers were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Joel Mayfield made the kick off in the second half. Darren Woods hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the game, Johnathon Crawshaw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joel Mayfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Phil Guest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alne AFC's Joel Mayfield got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Franz Billing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Franz Billing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Guest having to interfere. Franz Billing took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Phil Guest. Phil Guest dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Ian Pointon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 77 minutes into the match, Viking Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Mayfield came free, but Phil Guest reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Viking Rovers getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ian Pointon hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the match, Sean Jewson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jo Bloom, 2-3. Kristopher Pack received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jo Bloom came out and tried to block the shot, but Kristopher Pack slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 90th minute. When Franz Billing came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Alne AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franz Billing couldn't finish the play. The Viking Rovers players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
