Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kristopher Pack took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kristopher Pack got free with Joseph Jump in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 4 minutes into the game, Ian Pointon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Joseph Jump was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joseph Jump took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Pointon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 minutes, Benjamin Caton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viking Rovers and the Shoreham by Sea players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Viking Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Caton to maneuver through the defense. Geoff Beck struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Phil Guest didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shoreham by Sea. In the 13th minute, Ralf Silk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Benjamin Caton was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 16 minutes had been played. In the 19th minute Kristopher Pack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Jump saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joseph Jump made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Sean Jewson sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ron Clayton to make the kick off. Geoff Beck's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Phil Guest firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ian Pointon might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joseph Jump. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ian Pointon ran back to his position shaking his head. Joseph Jump showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sean Jewson in the 60th minute of the match. The supporters of Viking Rovers booed when Shoreham by Sea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Spike Hughes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kristopher Pack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viking Rovers's Kristian Frost got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Ian Pointon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Viking Rovers's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Pointon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joseph Jump breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Kristopher Pack fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Viking Rovers's protests and gave Kristopher Pack a yellow card for diving instead. Kristopher Pack kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Phil Guest made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ron Clayton in the 77th minute of play. In the 81st minute Kristopher Pack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Jump saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 96 minutes, Owen Barfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shoreham by Sea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Owen Barfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Viking Rovers players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
