The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Steve Shephard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Brian Meechan made a huge save. Brian Meechan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edward Silvester went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Iain Browne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Brian Meechan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luke Goodwick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman Farrow, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brian Meechan made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Edward Silvester sent off a good shot on target. 28 minutes into the game, Timothy Thurman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. I Love You Debra's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dunton Green United the free kick. In the 28th minute, Timothy Thurman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brian Meechan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caleb Wadham, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Dunton Green United's goal looked a bit too open when Norman Farrow came free, but Luke Goodwick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicky Harrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Brian Meechan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute Nicky Harrison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Meechan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Steve Shephard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Edward Silvester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brian Meechan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caleb Wadham in the 58th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Norman Farrow got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristian Brighton in the 70th minute of play forced Dunton Green United's goalkeeper Luke Goodwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 minutes of play, Dunton Green United's Iain Browne made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brian Meechan was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86thth minute of the game Nicky Harrison who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but I Love You Debra's Brian Meechan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kelvin Wildman charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kelvin Wildman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had been going on for 92 minutes, I Love You Debra's Norman Farrow got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Luke Goodwick. Dunton Green United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of I Love You Debra for a fine match.
