Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Neil Barnes got the match started through his kick off. Neil Barnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Grainger having to interfere. 11 minutes into the game, John Harkin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barnetby Le Wold's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bognor Regis the free kick. After 11 played minutes Barnetby Le Wold got a freekick which was hit by John Harkin. Adrian Grainger came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Bognor Regis's Neil Barnes. But to his dismay, Neil Barnes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Bognor Regis booed when Barnetby Le Wold was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Harkin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jude Bonham scored 0-2 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adrian Grainger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 25 minutes into the match, Barnetby Le Wold's goal looked a bit too open when Jude Bonham came free, but Adrian Grainger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Neil Barnes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodney Mason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Grainger having to interfere. Bognor Regis's Rodney Mason got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edward Cheetham didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 37th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralph Burley in the 45th minute of play forced Bognor Regis's goalkeeper Edward Cheetham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bognor Regis's Edward Cheetham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Bognor Regis from getting a goal against them.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Harkin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jude Bonham in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrian Grainger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A long shot from Darren Tompkins in the 57th minute of play was well struck, but Adrian Grainger made a really good save at the right post. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bognor Regis's goalkeeper Edward Cheetham, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Neil Barnes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Adrian Grainger made a huge save. When Eric Burnham fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bognor Regis's protests and gave Eric Burnham a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Barnetby Le Wold defense, Neil Barnes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adrian Grainger. The Barnetby Le Wold fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adrian Grainger should have stopped the shot. 77 minutes into the match, Bognor Regis's goal looked a bit too open when Ralph Burley came free, but Edward Cheetham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute Ralph Burley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Cheetham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodney Mason hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bognor Regis had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
