The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Barnetby Le Wold's Huey Hay got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Iain Browne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Adrian Grainger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adrian Grainger made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Andre Lappin sent off a good shot on target. Andre Lappins short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Adrian Grainger to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Huey Hay hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Andre Lappin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adrian Grainger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iain Browne, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Adrian Grainger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andre Lappin in the 31st minute. John Harkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luke Goodwick having to interfere. With a little luck, Barnetby Le Wold's Adrian Grainger got control of the ball when Andre Lappin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 41 played minutes Barnetby Le Wold got a freekick which was hit by John Harkin. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iain Browne to make the kick off. If John Harkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jack Turnbull took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adrian Grainger. Barnetby Le Wold's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Huey Hay got his second yellow card in the match during the 59th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Dunton Green United's Luke Goodwick proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Dunton Green United from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Lappin in the 75th minute of play forced Barnetby Le Wold's goalkeeper Adrian Grainger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76thth minute of the game Iain Browne who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barnetby Le Wold's Adrian Grainger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Caleb Wadham fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dunton Green United's protests and gave Caleb Wadham a yellow card for diving instead. Barnetby Le Wold's Adrian Grainger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andre Lappin in the 90th minute of play. John Harkin struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Luke Goodwick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barnetby Le Wold. After a defensive mix-up in Dunton Green United's zone, Ralph Burley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luke Goodwick came out of the goal and Ralph Burley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Barnetby Le Wold could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Dunton Green United throughout the match.
