Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Buster Langsford started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Skadoosh !'s goalkeeper Craig Cole had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rupert Varley. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Leighton in the 5th minute of play forced Skadoosh !'s goalkeeper Craig Cole to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Whitworth booed when Skadoosh ! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Al Talbot didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Al Talbot in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iain Armstrong saved Whitworth from getting behind. Charles Beadle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Iain Armstrong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute of the match Scott Harding sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Craig Cole skillfully saved the ball. After 24 played minutes Whitworth got a freekick which was hit by Leroy Deakin. The audience was convinced that Charles Beadle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iain Armstrong was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Al Talbot hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Tom Leighton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Whitworth's supporters rose to their feet, but Tom Leighton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Craig Cole breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd match minute, Skadoosh ! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Buster Langsford to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Skadoosh !'s Buster Langsford sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iain Armstrong narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Charles Beadle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skadoosh !'s supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Beadle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iain Armstrong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41stth minute of the game Buster Langsford who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Whitworth's Iain Armstrong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Buster Langsford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iain Armstrong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Buster Langsford, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tom Leighton to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Skadoosh ! booed when Whitworth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leroy Deakin didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rupert Varley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 minutes, Nial Clough mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Whitworth and the Skadoosh ! players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 68 played minutes Whitworth got a freekick which was hit by Nial Clough. Buster Langsford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Iain Armstrong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Whitworth's Iain Armstrong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Buster Langsford in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th match minute, Skadoosh ! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matty Nicholson to maneuver through the defense. When Tom Leighton came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Whitworth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tom Leighton couldn't finish the play. When Skadoosh !'s Buster Langsford in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Whitworth's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Skadoosh !'s Buster Langsford got a free kick in the 85th minute. Craig Cole came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Whitworth's Rupert Varley. But to his dismay, Rupert Varley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of Skadoosh ! booed when Whitworth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leroy Deakin didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Whitworth's Iain Armstrong got control of the ball when Charles Beadle tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 95 minutes, Buster Langsford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skadoosh !'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Buster Langsford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Skadoosh !'s supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Whitworth had won, even though Skadoosh ! had held more of the ball.
