Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gary Gerrard got the match started through his kick off. In the 21st minute John Paul Holmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perry Speight saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, FC Muie Steaua's Pat Prince nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tosh Swain made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Peter Hewitt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peter Hewitt during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Huey Fairs hit a great ball. Fred Sutton's late challenge caught a FC Muie Steaua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After having played for 41 minutes, John Paul Holmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stratton City's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Paul Holmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stratton City's John Paul Holmes got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peter Hewitt to strike the kick off in the second half. Tosh Swain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gary Gerrard, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Tosh Swain came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Muie Steaua's Pat Prince. But to his dismay, Pat Prince quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. When Pat Prince came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the FC Muie Steaua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pat Prince couldn't finish the play. 63 minutes into the match, Stratton City's goal looked a bit too open when Gary Gerrard came free, but Tosh Swain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Stratton City's Tosh Swain got control of the ball when Pat Prince tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Stratton City's John Paul Holmes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Perry Speight made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. In the 72nd minute, Damion Shuttleworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pat Prince fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tosh Swain having to interfere. Pat Prince received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Tosh Swain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Pat Prince had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the game, John Paul Holmes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stratton City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Muie Steaua the free kick. In the 87th minute, John Paul Holmes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pat Prince sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 94 played minutes Stratton City got a freekick which was hit by Peter Hewitt. FC Muie Steaua's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
