After a defensive mix-up in Stratton City's zone, Iain Browne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tosh Swain came out of the goal and Iain Browne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Brynn Kennedy fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stratton City's protests and gave Brynn Kennedy a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Stratton City getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Brynn Kennedy hit a great ball.

Edward Silvester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tosh Swain having to interfere. Steve Shephard spun around in front of the goal 52 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Stratton City's goal. 54 minutes into the match, Edward Silvester had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tosh Swain. Stratton City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Silvester was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Luke Goodwick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stratton City. 60 minutes into the match, Stratton City's goal looked a bit too open when Caleb Wadham came free, but Tosh Swain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
