The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Buster Langsford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Grainger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that John Harkin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Craig Cole was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Buster Langsford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Adrian Grainger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Craig Cole showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralph Burley, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. John Harkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Craig Cole having to interfere. Patrick Brough hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute Charles Beadle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Grainger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barnetby Le Wold's Adrian Grainger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Buster Langsford in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Barnetby Le Wold's Carl Crane got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Adrian Grainger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Buster Langsford in the 36th minute of play. Skadoosh ! were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Barnetby Le Wold's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ray Duggan took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Matty Nicholson heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 41 minutes into the match, Skadoosh !'s goalkeeper Craig Cole had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John Harkin. Adrian Grainger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Buster Langsford in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Buster Langsford made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Timothy Nicholls was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barnetby Le Wold's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skadoosh ! the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Timothy Nicholls hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 53rd minute of the match Ray Duggan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adrian Grainger skillfully saved the ball. After 54 played minutes Barnetby Le Wold got a freekick which was hit by Chip Mowlem. Skadoosh !'s Ray Duggan shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 55th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Adrian Grainger but with some difficulty. Ralph Burley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Buster Langsford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Grainger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute John Harkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Craig Cole saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Charles Beadle fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skadoosh !'s protests and gave Charles Beadle a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Barnetby Le Wold booed when Skadoosh ! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Beadle didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Harkin in the 78th minute of play forced Skadoosh !'s goalkeeper Craig Cole to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick Brough charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Brough the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes Skadoosh ! got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Brough. 90 minutes into the game, Buster Langsford recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adrian Grainger. Buster Langsford showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. With his leg Adrian Grainger managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Skadoosh !'s Charles Beadle fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 95 minutes into the game, Barnetby Le Wold's John Harkin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Craig Cole made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Barnetby Le Wold had played much better football throughout.
