Rod Bond charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rod Bond the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Helsby United getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Rod Bond hit a great ball. After 7 played minutes, Costa FC's Garth Way shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Louis Roche came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Costa FC reached it. Garth Way kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Adrian Sweeney hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the game, Piers Postolan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Keiran Storry was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Louis Roche was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Garth Way. After a rather tough play, Costa FC's Ryan Houlahan got a free kick in the 31st minute. The Helsby United fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Helsby United's Piers Postolan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Keiran Storry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piers Postolan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Piers Postolan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costa FC's Keiran Storry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piers Postolan in the 41st minute of play. Keiran Storry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piers Postolan in the 44th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rich Moxon made a kick off. Helsby United's Louis Roche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Sweeney in the 59th minute of play. Rod Bond kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Garth Way hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute of the match Pedro Jones sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Keiran Storry skillfully saved the ball. In the 70th match minute, Costa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garth Way to maneuver through the defense. Keiran Storry had great luck who in the 72ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Piers Postolan from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 74 minutes into the match, Piers Postolan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Keiran Storry, 0-5. In the 77th minute, Adrian Sweeney made a precise shot to the right of Louis Roche. Helsby United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. After a rather tough play, Helsby United's Huey Hinchcliffe got a free kick in the 81st minute. If Graeme Jobling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 88th minute of the match Rod Bond completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rod Bond a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Garth Way took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Louis Roche. Helsby United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, Costa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donny Niven to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Costa FC's zone, Piers Postolan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keiran Storry came out of the goal and Piers Postolan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Costa FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Helsby United's performance. The match ended with a win for Helsby United.
