Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Will Burgess started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Robin Eadan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Warren Hargraves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Will Burgess struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Warren Hargraves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hale. Wes Henderson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Will Burgess had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute, Wes Henderson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Hale's goal looked a bit too open when Rich Armstrong came free, but Ashley Harding reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Wes Henderson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Robin Eadan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robin Eadan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 26 minutes, Garry Draper mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hale and the Bakewell players grew even worse after the yellow card. Garry Draper hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Will Burgess received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Warren Hargraves came out and tried to block the shot, but Will Burgess slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 42nd minute. Robin Eadan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warren Hargraves having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rich Armstrong was the one to do the kick off. Warren Hargraves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Will Burgess, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. A collision led to Bakewell getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. George Gough hit a great ball. Hale's Will Burgess got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Will Burgess sped through Bakewell's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Warren Hargraves. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rich Armstrong in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ashley Harding prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 89 minutes into the game, Will Burgess cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Warren Hargraves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 94 minutes, Wes Henderson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
