Spectators: 7009 (Terracing: 6009, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Lucas Cambridge made the kick off which started today's match. In the 9th minute of the match, Wes Rain got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alec Legzdins was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 10 minutes into the game, Great Addington's Tris Gardner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alec Legzdins made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Lucas Cambridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 18th minute Lucas Cambridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alec Legzdins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 played minutes Rochester United got a freekick which was hit by Louis Summerfield. A collision led to Rochester United getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Julian Wilson hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Tris Gardner dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alec Legzdins, 3-0. In the 32nd minute Jasper Boatman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alec Legzdins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Rochester United's goalkeeper Alec Legzdins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tris Gardner. Alec Legzdins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tris Gardner in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute, Great Addington's Lucas Cambridge ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alec Legzdins. Alec Legzdins yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. With a little luck, Rochester United's Alec Legzdins got control of the ball when Tris Gardner tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Rochester United's goal looked a bit too open when Jasper Boatman came free, but Alec Legzdins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alec Legzdins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Cambridge in the 63rd minute of the match. If Tris Gardner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Rochester United's Louis Summerfield got a free kick in the 68th minute. Alec Legzdins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martyn Branch, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Alec Legzdins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tris Gardner went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. After 78 minutes of play, Great Addington's Tris Gardner made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alec Legzdins was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 81st minute Tris Gardner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alec Legzdins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ed Peyton in the 83rd minute of play forced Rochester United's goalkeeper Alec Legzdins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alec Legzdins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Cambridge in the 84th minute of the match. Alec Legzdins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Cambridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alec Legzdins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthew Hampton, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Rochester United's Alec Legzdins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyn Branch in the 93rd minute of play. Lucas Cambridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee ended the match the Great Addington players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
