After a defensive mix-up in Horfield's zone, Huey Beckford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John-Paul Snowden came out of the goal and Huey Beckford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Theagenis Ksagorarakis struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Ashley Harding didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Horfield. George Șerbulescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ashley Harding having to make a save. The referee felt a red card was in order, 11 minutes into the game, when Simon Charlton put in a rough tackle. Simon Charlton hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. John-Paul Snowden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Des Bayford in the 12th minute of the match. If George Șerbulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Șerbulescu scored 1-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ashley Harding, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. George Șerbulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Ashley Harding tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horfield's George Șerbulescu suffered a sore thigh after 22 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 22 minutes into the game, Garry Draper was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hale's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Horfield the free kick. Ashley Harding showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ron Bittner in the 25th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Rick Mullen notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Hale's Ashley Harding. Ashley Harding was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Ronny Maxell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronny Maxell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ashley Harding breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ashley Harding took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rick Mullen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Horfield's Ronny Maxell got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Ronny Maxell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronny Maxell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ashley Harding breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th match minute, Hale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garry Draper to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Rick Mullen made the kick off in the second half. Ronny Maxell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ashley Harding having to interfere. Rick Mullen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ronny Maxell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ashley Harding tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John-Paul Snowden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Eadan, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Rick Mullen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Ashley Harding tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute Will Burgess shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John-Paul Snowden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rick Mullen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Rick Mullen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Rick Mullen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ashley Harding breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 73 minutes into the match, Hale's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Maxell came free, but Ashley Harding reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute, Rick Mullen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 77 minutes, Ronny Maxell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronny Maxell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ron Bittner fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Horfield's protests and gave Ron Bittner a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Horfield getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Ron Bittner hit a great ball. Ashley Harding didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronny Maxell went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 89 minutes into the match, Horfield's goalkeeper John-Paul Snowden had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Huey Beckford. 93 minutes into the match, Hale's goal looked a bit too open when Rick Mullen came free, but Ashley Harding reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ronny Maxell came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Horfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronny Maxell couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Horfield fully deserved thier win.
