Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rich Armstrong got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, Bakewell's Warren Hargraves got control of the ball when Lucas Cambridge tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 5 minutes of play, Bakewell's Rich Armstrong made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teddy Lucas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lucas Cambridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warren Hargraves having to interfere. Wes Henderson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 19th match minute, Bakewell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wes Henderson to maneuver through the defense. Rich Armstrong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Teddy Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute Lucas Cambridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Warren Hargraves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Cambridge had several of the Bakewell's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 34 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Warren Hargraves as he didn't even see the shot coming. Warren Hargraves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tris Gardner in the 37th minute. Great Addington's Lucas Cambridge got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Great Addington's Jasper Boatman got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute Mattias Thackray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teddy Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucas Cambridge made a kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Bakewell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wes Henderson to maneuver through the defense. Rich Armstrong took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teddy Lucas. Teddy Lucas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 63 minutes into the game, Great Addington's Lucas Cambridge nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Warren Hargraves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martyn Branch in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Warren Hargraves saved Bakewell from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Bakewell's zone, Lucas Cambridge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Warren Hargraves came out of the goal and Lucas Cambridge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the match, Bakewell's goal looked a bit too open when Tris Gardner came free, but Warren Hargraves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Great Addington's Martyn Branch nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Warren Hargraves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Wes Henderson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Warren Hargraves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ed Peyton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the match, Bakewell's Wes Henderson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teddy Lucas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lucas Cambridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warren Hargraves having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Great Addington had won after a very even match.
