Swanage
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nicky Wicks started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Jools Merrill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute Ed Peyton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kris Le Tissier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Great Addington's Teddy Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicky Wicks in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Lucas Cambridge made a precise shot to the right of Kris Le Tissier. Swanage's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Swanage's Kris Le Tissier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyn Branch in the 16th minute of play. If Nicky Wicks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jasper Boatman kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Tris Gardner notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Swanage's Kris Le Tissier. Kris Le Tissier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 27 minutes into the match, Swanage's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Cambridge came free, but Kris Le Tissier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martyn Branch scored 0-3 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kris Le Tissier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Ed Peyton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 37 minutes on the clock, Russ Bastow commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Swanage's Kris Le Tissier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyn Branch in the 42nd minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Wes Rain threw the ball into play from the sideline. Swanage's James Boulton quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Lucas Cambridge made the kick off in the second half. Wes Rain hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Wes Rain in the 59th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Swanage's James Boulton. If James Boulton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kris Le Tissier was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Martyn Branch showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 65 minute of play. Swanage's James Boulton managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Wes Rain in the 68 minute of the game. Swanage's Kris Le Tissier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Swanage from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Cambridge during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lucas Cambridge hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 82nd match minute, Swanage was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kev Blythe to maneuver through the defense. Swanage's Kris Le Tissier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jasper Boatman in the 84th minute of play. Kris Le Tissier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ed Peyton in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ed Peyton in the 89th minute of play forced Swanage's goalkeeper Kris Le Tissier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Tris Gardner notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Swanage's Kris Le Tissier. Kris Le Tissier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 95th minute of the match, Martyn Branch tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kris Le Tissier saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match was over Great Addington could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Swanage throughout the match.
