In the 6th minute, Lucas Lonsdale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Seb Hall could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Rio Whalley made a huge save. With a little luck, Settle's Rio Whalley got control of the ball when Lucas Lonsdale tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, The Rifles's goal looked a bit too open when Bob Love came free, but Rod Flemming reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rod Flemming came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Settle's Bob Love. But to his dismay, Bob Love quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The Rifles's Rod Flemming played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Love in the 24th minute of play. If Bob Love had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bob Love came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Settle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bob Love couldn't finish the play. After 38 played minutes Settle got a freekick which was hit by Edward Eastwood. Rio Whalley made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Seb Hall sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute, Bob Love got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rio Whalley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucas Lonsdale in the 44th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Bob Love got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. William Martindale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rio Whalley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seb Hall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bob Love received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Rod Flemming tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edward Eastwood hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Bob Love managed to get in a good position for a shot. Settle's supporters rose to their feet, but Bob Love was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rod Flemming breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 68 minutes, Seb Hall mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Rifles and the Settle players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 68 played minutes The Rifles got a freekick which was hit by Seb Hall. In the 71st minute, Bob Love ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rod Flemming was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After 75 played minutes The Rifles got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Lonsdale. 78 minutes into the match, Settle's goal looked a bit too open when Seb Hall came free, but Rio Whalley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bob Love sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, The Rifles's Rod Flemming got control of the ball when Bob Love tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Rifles's Duncan Crossley couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 91st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Settle. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Settle had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
