Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bob Love took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6th minute, Darwen's Ed Kenworthy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rio Whalley. Rio Whalley yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. William Martindale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Edworthy having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ed Kenworthy got free with Rio Whalley in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 15th minute, Darwen's Ty Turnbull ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rio Whalley. Rio Whalley yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Brendon Edworthy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Love in the 18th minute of play. Bob Love might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brendon Edworthy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bob Love ran back to his position shaking his head. Bob Love fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Edworthy having to interfere. Rio Whalley made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Ty Turnbull sent off a good shot on target. Bob Love sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abraham Bartlett hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Bob Love sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Brendon Winstanley came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Darwen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brendon Winstanley couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brendon Winstanley to strike the kick off in the second half. Bob Love sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darwen were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Settle's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Denzil Connell took the corner. After taking down the ball on Darwen's corner Denzil Connell fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rio Whalley quite easily take care of the ball. Bob Love in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brendon Edworthy, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bob Love took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brendon Edworthy. Brendon Edworthy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Ty Turnbull put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rio Whalley. 85 minutes into the match, Settle's goal looked a bit too open when Ty Turnbull came free, but Rio Whalley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If William Martindale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ty Turnbull came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Darwen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ty Turnbull couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the game, Darwen's Brendon Winstanley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rio Whalley made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Rio Whalley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ty Turnbull, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Darwen's Brendon Winstanley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rio Whalley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Darwen had won after a very even match.
