Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Adam Fronczak started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Clive Bourton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 4 minutes into the game, Joshua Bedford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Freedom's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Darwen the free kick. Dylan Duckworth made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Ty Turnbull sent off a good shot on target. In the 14th minute, Ty Turnbull left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Darwen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 17th minute, Ed Kenworthy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Darwen's goal looked a bit too open when Clive Bourton came free, but Brendon Edworthy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22ndth minute of the game Brendon Winstanley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Freedom's Dylan Duckworth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dylan Duckworth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ty Turnbull, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st match minute, Freedom was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shaun Welch to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute Denzil Connell managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Bartlett in the 39th minute of play forced Freedom's goalkeeper Dylan Duckworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andre Morning got free with Dylan Duckworth in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brendon Winstanley to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Freedom's Don Featherstone got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Freedom's zone, Ty Turnbull stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dylan Duckworth came out of the goal and Ty Turnbull tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dylan Duckworth came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Darwen's Brendon Winstanley. But to his dismay, Brendon Winstanley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Brendon Winstanley took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dylan Duckworth. Dylan Duckworth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Brendon Winstanley's late challenge caught a Freedom's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brendon Winstanley helped the player get up and apologised. Brendon Winstanley hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Dylan Duckworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ty Turnbull in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute Ty Turnbull shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dylan Duckworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brendon Edworthy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clive Bourton, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After 82 played minutes Freedom got a freekick which was hit by Clive Bourton. In the 84th minute Brendon Winstanley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dylan Duckworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ty Turnbull sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Darwen's Ty Turnbull pulled a muscle in his back after 93 minutes and couldn't finish the game.
