If Nathan Wallbank had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Broadgreen FC booed when Carlisle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnathon Hamilton didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 25 minutes, Donald Hellen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carlisle United and the Broadgreen FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Donald Hellen kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Malcolm Gold hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. When Nathan Wallbank came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Broadgreen FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nathan Wallbank couldn't finish the play. Carlisle United's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nathan Wallbank 28 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. In the 32nd minute, Buster Keane made a precise shot to the right of Rufus Marchant. Carlisle United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 35 minutes into the game, Freddy Blacknell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Pang Zheng Zhen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 39 minutes into the match, Carlisle United's Donald Hellen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pang Zheng Zhen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Nathan Wallbank's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rufus Marchant was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Rufus Marchant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthias Kirchberg in the 45th minute of play. Matthias Kirchberg took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rufus Marchant. Rufus Marchant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronnie Hylton to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Donald Hellen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Pang Zheng Zhen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 60th minute, Ronnie Hylton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Broadgreen FC's Pang Zheng Zhen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Broadgreen FC from getting a goal against them. Donald Hellen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 minutes of play Carlisle United's Donald Hellen was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Donald Hellen kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. The supporters of Broadgreen FC booed when Carlisle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronnie Hylton didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Broadgreen FC's Matthias Kirchberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rufus Marchant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 79th minute Nathan Wallbank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rufus Marchant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronnie Hylton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rufus Marchant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathan Wallbank, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Broadgreen FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Carlisle United for a fine match.
