When Gez Heslop fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Laindon FC's protests and gave Gez Heslop a yellow card for diving instead. Dale Cole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gez Heslop in the 7th minute of play. Laindon FC's Christian Fox got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 14 minutes into the game, Joel Sheringham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laindon FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crazy Bastards FC the free kick. Joel Sheringham hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Mike Wardell's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Danny Halloran skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Mike Wardell came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Crazy Bastards FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mike Wardell couldn't finish the play. Danny Halloran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodd Snowdon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gus Power hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Christian Fox scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dale Cole, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ralph Rutherford hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Adrian Tyrell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mike Wardell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Danny Halloran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Rodd Snowdon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crazy Bastards FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodd Snowdon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Laindon FC's zone, Gus Power stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danny Halloran came out of the goal and Gus Power tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Crazy Bastards FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Laindon FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mike Wardell was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Mike Wardell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Fox in the 54th minute of play forced Crazy Bastards FC's goalkeeper Dale Cole to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Gez Heslop managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laindon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gez Heslop was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dale Cole breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice moves Gez Heslop could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Dale Cole however easily saved by the left post. In the 59th minute, Adrian Tyrell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crazy Bastards FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Rodd Snowdon struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Danny Halloran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crazy Bastards FC. After a rather tough play, Laindon FC's Kyle East got a free kick in the 66th minute. Mike Wardell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 83 played minutes Crazy Bastards FC got a freekick which was hit by Gus Power. Danny Halloran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodd Snowdon in the 89th minute of the match. Adrian Tyrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Danny Halloran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
