After a rather tough play, Birstall Bombers's Paulinho de Sena got a free kick in the 2nd minute. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Edmund Ziombkowski took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Esad Vidić to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 8 minutes, Paulinho de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Birstall Bombers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulinho de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the game, Birstall Bombers's Orson Woodier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jack Nicholson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgilio Valery got free with Esad Vidić in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute, Edmund Ziombkowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Esad Vidić was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Paulinho de Sena might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jack Nicholson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulinho de Sena ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd play minute Virgilio Valery came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Esad Vidić. 5-1. After 35 played minutes Jânio Guedes rounded Birstall Bombers's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 6-1. The supporters of Blyth AFC booed when Birstall Bombers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon Husband didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esad Vidić was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Virgilio Valery to strike the kick off in the second half. Esad Vidić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgilio Valery in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Birstall Bombers's goal looked a bit too open when Virgilio Valery came free, but Esad Vidić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56thth minute of the game Jânio Guedes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Birstall Bombers's Esad Vidić was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 59th minute, Basil Hardcastle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgilio Valery sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Blyth AFC's Jack Nicholson got control of the ball when Orson Woodier tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Jon Husband had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, one of Birstall Bombers:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Birstall Bombers. The referee gave Blyth AFC a penalty, 81 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Charles Buard, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Birstall Bombers's Esad Vidić. 8-1. After 88 played minutes Blyth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Clausen. Jânio Guedes took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Esad Vidić. Esad Vidić dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-1. In the 95th match minute, Birstall Bombers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stan Carr to maneuver through the defense. Charles Buard struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Esad Vidić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blyth AFC. Birstall Bombers's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
