Zackary Humphreys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Philip Ash, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 4th minute, Cody Ashby made a precise shot to the right of Johnathon Haigh. Thē Ŵhïppętś's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 8 minutes, Romeo Lemerond mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Thē Ŵhïppętś and the Burntwood Foresters players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th minute, Burntwood Foresters's Graham Coote seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Graham Coote the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Burntwood Foresters protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Graham Coote had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 12 played minutes Burntwood Foresters got a freekick which was hit by Graham Coote. 14 minutes into the game, Thē Ŵhïppętś's Marcus Rashford nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zackary Humphreys made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jordan Forrest during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Burntwood Foresters booed when Thē Ŵhïppętś was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan Forrest didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Jo Stonebridge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wayne Rooney took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zackary Humphreys. Burntwood Foresters's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Thē Ŵhïppętś's zone, Ronny Attwood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johnathon Haigh came out of the goal and Ronny Attwood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jo Stonebridge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Johnathon Haigh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Rashford got free with Zackary Humphreys in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Thē Ŵhïppętś booed when Burntwood Foresters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Spears didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Peter Maston managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thē Ŵhïppętś's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Maston was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zackary Humphreys breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Burntwood Foresters's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcus Rashford was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Ronny Attwood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, Thē Ŵhïppętś's goal looked a bit too open when Garry Corby came free, but Johnathon Haigh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Ralf Stewart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ronny Attwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Garry Corby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burntwood Foresters's supporters rose to their feet, but Garry Corby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnathon Haigh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronny Attwood to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Rashford in the 52nd minute of play forced Burntwood Foresters's goalkeeper Zackary Humphreys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zackary Humphreys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philip Ash, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 61st minute Marcus Rashford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zackary Humphreys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zackary Humphreys showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Rashford in the 62nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Philip Ash during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Thē Ŵhïppętś's Philip Ash got a free kick in the 65th minute. 65 minutes into the game, one of Burntwood Foresters:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Thē Ŵhïppętś a penalty, 67 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Wayne Rooney, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Burntwood Foresters's Zackary Humphreys. 4-1. Ashley Hendley hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 74 minutes into the match, Eric Spears notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Thē Ŵhïppętś's Johnathon Haigh. Johnathon Haigh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Burntwood Foresters's Ronny Attwood got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Garry Corby's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnathon Haigh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Ronny Attwood left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Burntwood Foresters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-3. Many of Burntwood Foresters's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Burntwood Foresters may have spent more time on the ball, but Thē Ŵhïppętś were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
