Jânio Guedes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Glen Nash showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jânio Guedes in the 8th minute of the match. Glen Nash came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Blyth AFC's Jânio Guedes. But to his dismay, Jânio Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Glen Nash made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgilio Valery in the 11th minute of play. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Virgilio Valery sped through Carlisle United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Glen Nash. 16 minutes into the game, John Paul Long was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blyth AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carlisle United the free kick. In the 16th match minute, Blyth AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Paul Long to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute Duncan Draper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jack Nicholson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jake Marriott hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Harri Kaine kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Glen Nash showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Valery, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 21 minutes into the match, Virgilio Valery had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Glen Nash. Carlisle United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Virgilio Valery was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carlisle United's goalkeeper Glen Nash, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Blyth AFC were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Carlisle United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Charles Buard took the corner. The corner led to Blyth AFC's John Paul Long getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The audience was convinced that Virgilio Valery's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Glen Nash was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. 36 minutes into the match, Carlisle United's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio Guedes came free, but Glen Nash reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Carlisle United getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Calvin Townsley hit a great ball. Duncan Draper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Jack Nicholson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Mager, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Nestor Clausen sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Glen Nash threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Nestor Clausen this time. 63 minutes into the match, Blyth AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Duncan Draper came free, but Jack Nicholson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jânio Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jack Nicholson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Mager in the 66th minute of play. When Charles Buard fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blyth AFC's protests and gave Charles Buard a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Blyth AFC's Charles Buard got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute, Jake Marriott sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Blyth AFC's Jack Nicholson didn't even have to move. Brendon Rowland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgilio Valery might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Glen Nash. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Virgilio Valery ran back to his position shaking his head. 86 minutes into the match, Carlisle United's goalkeeper Glen Nash had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgilio Valery. The corner led to Blyth AFC's Edmund Ziombkowski getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 90th match minute, Carlisle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Mager to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Blyth AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
