The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Dean Atkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hextable United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ruben Moss was slow to take the kick. During this time Blandford Forum's players had a chance to rest. Jack Broadhurst was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Syd Pallister blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carl Budden having to make a save. If Syd Pallister had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Craig Snowden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liam Bray having to interfere. Syd Pallister's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Carl Budden skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hextable United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Lewis Milton scored to the left of an out of position Carl Budden, making the score, 3-0. Ruben Moss made a great header on Blandford Forum's corner, it was just that Hextable United's Carl Budden managed to reach the ball for a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dean Atkins made a kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Syd Pallister who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hextable United's Carl Budden was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carl Budden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Syd Pallister in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Lewis Milton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blandford Forum's supporters rose to their feet, but Lewis Milton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carl Budden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lewis Milton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Budden having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Blandford Forum's Tyler Cordingley got a free kick in the 65th minute. Ethan French, 66 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 71 minutes into the match, Lewis Milton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carl Budden. Hextable United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lewis Milton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Syd Pallister managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blandford Forum's supporters rose to their feet, but Syd Pallister was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carl Budden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Blandford Forum's Miles Gamble got a free kick in the 79th minute. Liam Bray stood somewhat misplaced when Dean Atkins came free in front of goal and shot 4-1 to the left of him in the 80 minute. A collision led to Blandford Forum getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Syd Pallister hit a great ball. Carl Budden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lewis Milton in the 89th minute of play. When Blandford Forum's Lewis Milton in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hextable United's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Blandford Forum had won after a very even match.
