In the 17th minute, Alec Hancock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ted Winstanley acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 18th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Stuart Hicks. 20 minutes into the match, Cheltenham City's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Åkesson came free, but Silvester Stallone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match FC Pelsall got a corner. Cheltenham City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bill Marston ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which 이 연 managed to volley towards the net. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Axel Åkesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvester Stallone having to interfere. Axel Åkesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Silvester Stallone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 played minutes FC Pelsall got a freekick which was hit by Steve Lambley. 67 minutes into the game, Damon Fordham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cheltenham City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Pelsall the free kick. In the 68th match minute, Cheltenham City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damon Fordham to maneuver through the defense.
