Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gigi Răduța to make the kick off. With an all-out effort, Arsene fc's Guus Zalm threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gu Yu Peng, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Albert Fitzgerald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute Ross Ingram shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wesley Brearley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Arsene fc eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
