Liverpool1978's Albert Ford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gwyn Gold in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Sly Ainsworth could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which Lance Holdroyd however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwyn Gold in the 20th minute of play forced Liverpool1978's goalkeeper Albert Ford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fc Earls's Lance Holdroyd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garry Cheesman in the 21st minute of play. Garry Cheesman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Lance Holdroyd when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Liverpool1978's supporters rose to their feet, but Garry Cheesman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lance Holdroyd breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
