Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki came free with the goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lennie Rusby could save by the left post. Manchester City's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Geoffrey De Bougne in the 8th minute. The corner ended in Leigh Peyton almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Heavenly Hooters's Lennie Rusby did a great save. A collision led to Heavenly Hooters getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Lico Aldazabal hit a great ball. Manchester City's Geoffrey De Bougne got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Heavenly Hooters's Ross Clark got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bartlomiej Niedzwieckis short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Lennie Rusby to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 27 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luiz de Moraes came free, but Frank Pearce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Pearce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luiz de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Todd Griffiths in the 31st minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Frank Pearce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Luiz de Moraes in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frank Pearce saved Manchester City from getting behind. But to his dismay, Phil Naylor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Frank Pearce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phil Naylor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Manchester City's Geoffrey De Bougne got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 48th minute, Phil Naylor made a precise shot to the right of Frank Pearce. Manchester City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2.

Frank Pearce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Todd Griffiths in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute of the match Heavenly Hooters got a corner. Manchester City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Todd Griffiths ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 58th minute, Barrie Fleming hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Manchester City getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Barrie Fleming hit a great ball. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester City's goalkeeper Frank Pearce, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peter Avery hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Isac Vornicu made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jake Grayson. In the 68th minute, Anthony Carey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 70th minute Todd Griffiths shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Pearce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Anthony Carey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lennie Rusby was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Lennie Rusby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Carey in the 80th minute of play. If Anthony Carey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Anthony Carey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lennie Rusby having to make a save. 92 minutes into the match, Heavenly Hooters's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Carey came free, but Lennie Rusby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
