Sofoklis Prinianakis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Maura's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Sofoklis Prinianakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denzil Butterfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kristian Ottaway to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Samuel Löfskog who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Henley on Thames United's Sofoklis Prinianakis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Henley on Thames United getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Jake Marriott hit a great ball. Sofoklis Prinianakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Codrin Şelaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carl Houghton received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Barry Foreman came out and tried to block the shot, but Carl Houghton slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 61st minute. Felipe Maura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barry Foreman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Houghton in the 90th minute of play. The Henley on Thames United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Henley on Thames United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
