The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, TibaDons's goal looked a bit too open when Eskil Stenkvist came free, but Pepe Le Petit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Eskil Stenkvist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC LIVERPOOL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 12 minutes, Thom Easton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC LIVERPOOL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thom Easton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, TibaDons's goal looked a bit too open when Giray Semin came free, but Pepe Le Petit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dion Hislop hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute of the match, Ian Emander got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gerald Buffon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anier Eneko in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerald Buffon saved FC LIVERPOOL from getting behind. In the 38th minute TibaDons were awarded a corner. Dennis Bellomo went to the cornerflag to take it. TibaDons's Dennis Bellomo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gerald Buffon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gerald Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anier Eneko, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute, one of TibaDons:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for TibaDons. Pepe Le Petit didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fred Tutorskiy went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The TibaDons players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC LIVERPOOL were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eskil Stenkvist was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Pierce Gerrard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The TibaDons fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierce Gerrard in the 56th minute of play forced FC LIVERPOOL's goalkeeper Gerald Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, TibaDons's Pepe Le Petit got control of the ball when Eskil Stenkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. If John Donnelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pepe Le Petit was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bektaş Ali Toper showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 87 minute of play. When Ian Emander came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the TibaDons fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian Emander couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC LIVERPOOL eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
