Spectators: 6741 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1741, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Abdelmalik Dali Bey started the match with the kick off. If Rafik Brahmia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdelmalik Dali Bey received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anis Mezghenna came out and tried to block the shot, but Abdelmalik Dali Bey slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. After having played for 9 minutes, Makhlouf Soumati managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Redruth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Makhlouf Soumati was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Redruth's Anis Mezghenna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Redruth from getting a goal against them. In the 15th play minute Abdelhafid Abdessalam came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Anis Mezghenna. 2-0. In the 18th minute Oualid Morceli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bendjedid Akvayli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rafik Brahmia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Rafik Brahmia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bendjedid Akvayli was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 31st minute, one of Redruth:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Redruth. The referee gave Birmingham Selly Oak City a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abdallah Belmadi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Redruth's Anis Mezghenna. 3-0. With 36 minutes on the clock, Hassan Zeghni commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Hassan Zeghni hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Bendjedid Akvayli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafik Brahmia in the 48th minute of the match.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rafik Brahmia to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57thth minute of the game Abdelmalik Dali Bey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Redruth's Anis Mezghenna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anis Mezghenna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelhafid Abdessalam in the 60th minute of play. Rafik Brahmia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rafik Brahmia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Bendjedid Akvayli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Rafik Brahmia made a precise shot to the right of Bendjedid Akvayli. Birmingham Selly Oak City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 82nd minute Abdelhafid Abdessalam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anis Mezghenna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdelmalik Dali Bey in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anis Mezghenna saved Redruth from getting behind. Anis Mezghenna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelmalik Dali Bey in the 84th minute of play. Abdelhafid Abdessalam might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anis Mezghenna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abdelhafid Abdessalam ran back to his position shaking his head. Abdelmalik Dali Bey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Anis Mezghenna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abdelhafid Abdessalam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anis Mezghenna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Rafik Brahmia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Bendjedid Akvayli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Birmingham Selly Oak City's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
