Spectators: 6731 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 0) Whitehaven's Rezki Béchar started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hamid Saïfi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hachem Mouzaoui having to interfere. After having played for 14 minutes, Rezki Béchar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitehaven's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rezki Béchar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Whitehaven's Hamid Saïfi got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rezki Béchar in the 17th minute of play forced Cheltenham's goalkeeper Hachem Mouzaoui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 played minutes Cheltenham got a freekick which was hit by Boughera Benyagoub. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camil Sami got free with Ferhat Kensi in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ferhat Kensi was a little too slow when Camil Sami got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-0. Camil Sami kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 25thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Whitehaven's keeper Ferhat Kensi was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. When Whitehaven's Rezki Béchar in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cheltenham's goalie prevented a goal. In the 33rd minute, Hamid Saïfi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Whitehaven's Hamid Saïfi got a free kick in the 37th minute. If Lili Djebar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rezki Béchar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Hachem Mouzaoui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rezki Béchar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hachem Mouzaoui having to make a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lili Djebar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Lili Djebar came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Cheltenham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lili Djebar couldn't finish the play. In the 55th minute, Camil Sami got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Whitehaven's zone, Lili Djebar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ferhat Kensi came out of the goal and Lili Djebar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Whitehaven defense, Lili Djebar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ferhat Kensi. The Whitehaven fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferhat Kensi should have stopped the shot. Rezki Béchar struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Hachem Mouzaoui didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whitehaven. When Souad Amraoui fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Whitehaven's protests and gave Souad Amraoui a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Whitehaven fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! Hachem Mouzaoui made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nasser Belmadi in the 97th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, Cheltenham could leave the field as winners, despite Whitehaven having more of the ball for most of the match.
