Salim Zemirli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Farid Belmadi in the 40th minute. Idras Labi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fouad Bouzid's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Assad Baroudi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Farid Belmadi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Salim Zemirli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Fouad Bouzid had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Belgacem Benikhlef left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newcastle-upon-Tyne AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Idras Labi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Assad Baroudi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Newcastle-upon-Tyne AFC's Farid Belmadi got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Newcastle-upon-Tyne AFC had won after a very even match.
