The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yamine Achiu during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Harpurhey AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hindley City:s goal. Abdelkrim Karim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Idir Aribi having to interfere. Idir Aribi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Akim Halimi's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Badreddine Rezzag fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chems Saïdi-Sief having to interfere. Abdelkrim Karim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Idir Aribi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Akim Halimi in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Idir Aribi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Idir Aribi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelkrim Karim in the 30th minute of play. Chems Saïdi-Sief didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Badreddine Rezzag went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Abdelkrim Karim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39thth minute of the game Abdelbassir Mammeri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hindley City's Chems Saïdi-Sief was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Idir Aribi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Akim Halimi, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 41st minute, Kateb Bourbon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 43 minutes, Abdelkrim Karim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hindley City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdelkrim Karim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Akim Halimi in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Idir Aribi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Akim Halimi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Harpurhey AFC's Rafik Rezzoug got a free kick in the 54th minute. Hindley City's Sabri Amri couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 55th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Harpurhey AFC. After 56 minutes, Yunes Bouzid mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Harpurhey AFC and the Hindley City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hindley City booed when Harpurhey AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yunes Bouzid didn't get a good kick on the ball. Akim Halimi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Idir Aribi having to interfere. Yamine Achiu hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Akim Halimi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Akim Halimi in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Idir Aribi saved Harpurhey AFC from getting behind. 72 minutes into the game, Kateb Bourbon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Harpurhey AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hindley City the free kick. The supporters of Hindley City booed when Harpurhey AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kateb Bourbon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yamine Achiu was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Abdelkrim Karim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Idir Aribi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Harpurhey AFC's Idir Aribi got control of the ball when Abdelkrim Karim tried to sneak it across the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abdelkrim Karim couldn't finish the play. Yunes Bouzid hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Akim Halimi took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Idir Aribi. Idir Aribi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.
