In the 16th minute, Smaïn Messai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Nacim Ouenjelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Smaïn Messai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Idriss Cherrad. South Shields's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Smaïn Messai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Mouloud Hansali sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hunslet City's Ishak Mansouri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdallah Fechtali in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Malek Feraoun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes in the game, Nacim Ouenjelli fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ishak Mansouri having to interfere. Mouloud Hansali sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Smaïn Messai notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of South Shields's Idriss Cherrad. Idriss Cherrad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hacène Alemdar hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After 46 minutes, Smaïn Messai mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hunslet City and the South Shields players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half Hunslet City were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Idriss Cherrad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Smaïn Messai in the 51st minute of the match. Ishak Mansouri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdallah Fechtali, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Nacim Ouenjelli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ishak Mansouri. Hunslet City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nacim Ouenjelli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The supporters of South Shields booed when Hunslet City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bekathen Hamouda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samir Ghanem might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ishak Mansouri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Samir Ghanem ran back to his position shaking his head. 92 minutes into the match, Nacim Ouenjelli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ishak Mansouri. Hunslet City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nacim Ouenjelli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The South Shields fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hunslet City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
