A collision led to Radcliffe-on-Trent getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Fathi Khennane hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tarik Assad in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Billel Bouzina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 20th minute, Hachemi Morceli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Billel Bouzina was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Fathi Khennane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Radcliffe-on-Trent's supporters rose to their feet, but Fathi Khennane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdelaziz Akrour breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tarik Assad got in the 31st a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Billel Bouzina handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Tarik Assad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Radcliffe-on-Trent's zone, Hachemi Morceli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Billel Bouzina came out of the goal and Hachemi Morceli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Formby booed when Radcliffe-on-Trent was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lounès Brahimi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hachemi Morceli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After a rather tough play, Radcliffe-on-Trent's Knodi Fari got a free kick in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hachemi Morceli in the 55th minute of play forced Radcliffe-on-Trent's goalkeeper Billel Bouzina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abdelmoumène Damardji fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelaziz Akrour having to interfere. When Radcliffe-on-Trent's Fathi Khennane in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Formby's goalie prevented a goal. Billel Bouzina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hachemi Morceli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tarik Assad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billel Bouzina having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Radcliffe-on-Trent's goal looked a bit too open when Tarik Assad came free, but Billel Bouzina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hachemi Morceli took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Billel Bouzina. Billel Bouzina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Brahim Zaghloul kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Formby walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
