One of Colchester:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Paignton AFC:s goal. The referee gave Paignton AFC a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Driss Embarek, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Colchester's Tedj Horr. 0-1. Yahia Dib took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tedj Horr. Tedj Horr dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The audience was convinced that Yahia Dib's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tedj Horr was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After the first half Paignton AFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Tedj Horr successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yahia Dib got free with Tedj Horr in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the match, Yidir Mazigh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Boumedienne Kheyari. Paignton AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yidir Mazigh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. With a little luck, Colchester's Tedj Horr got control of the ball when Yahia Dib tried to sneak it across the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tedj Horr didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 70th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Yahia Dib who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Tedj Horr when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Boumedienne Kheyari took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zizou Allam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yahia Dib received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Tedj Horr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Chakib Halouadji had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yahia Dib got free with Tedj Horr in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paignton AFC played a much better game than Colchester and deserved their victory. The Colchester players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
