The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Cheb Bourebbou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Madjid Kraouche, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cleator Moor AFC! In the 13th minute, Guernsey got a penalty, and Tayeb Brahimi placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. In the 16th minute, Anis Adjimi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Madjid Kraouche might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cheb Bourebbou. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Madjid Kraouche ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute Slimane Cohen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cheb Bourebbou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Slimane Cohen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cheb Bourebbou was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 32 minutes into the match, Guernsey's goal looked a bit too open when Yunes Djebbour came free, but Hamid Drari reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Cleator Moor AFC fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Cleator Moor AFC's Anis Adjimi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hamid Drari breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Cheb Bourebbou managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Guernsey's Mokhtar Arouaba fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Mokhtar Arouaba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Cheb Bourebbou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Slimane Cohen took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cheb Bourebbou. Cheb Bourebbou dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Hafid Djebar's late challenge caught a Guernsey's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hafid Djebar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th minute, Hafid Djebar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hamid Drari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yunes Djebbour in the 62nd minute of play. Abdelnacer Zeghbouche's late challenge caught a Cleator Moor AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abdelnacer Zeghbouche helped the player get up and apologised. In the 67th minute, Mokhtar Arouaba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Cleator Moor AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Mokhtar Arouaba came free, but Cheb Bourebbou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Slimane Cohen in the 80th minute of play forced Cleator Moor AFC's goalkeeper Cheb Bourebbou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
