Zinedine Kadri started the match with the kick off. After 9 played minutes East Grinstead got a freekick which was hit by Ismaël Saïb. If Hachem Bessou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Wallasey getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Medjadi Kerrache hit a great ball. Bellemou Mansouri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute Hachem Bessou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nabil Zemmamouche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nabil Zemmamouche showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hachem Bessou in the 28th minute of the match. Medjadi Kerrache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Belkacem Liegeon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Wallasey:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of East Grinstead:s goal. Belkacem Liegeon made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Medjadi Kerrache sent off a good shot on target. East Grinstead's Belkacem Liegeon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save East Grinstead from getting a goal against them. Bellemou Mansouri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Nabil Zemmamouche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The supporters of East Grinstead booed when Wallasey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rochdi Saïfi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belkacem Liegeon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Medjadi Kerrache, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 61st minute, Hachem Bessou reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nabil Zemmamouche. The goal made the score 0-1. Zinedine Kadri took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Belkacem Liegeon. Belkacem Liegeon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Zinedine Kadri might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Belkacem Liegeon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zinedine Kadri ran back to his position shaking his head. 80 minutes into the match, East Grinstead's goal looked a bit too open when Zinedine Kadri came free, but Belkacem Liegeon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fayssal Benattia charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fayssal Benattia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Khalil Lacen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Nabil Zemmamouche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hachem Bessou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nabil Zemmamouche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismaël Saïb in the 93rd minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the East Grinstead players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
