Spectators: 6744 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1744, VIP seats: 0) Shrewsbury's Samir Zafour started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Balsall Common booed when Shrewsbury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Redouane Hamrouche didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th of the match, Samir Zafour tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Faouzi Nabil got in the way and made a wonderful save. Maarouf Benguedoudj kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Hicham Zenia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Faouzi Nabil. The goal made the score 1-0. If Aydril Khelfellah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giss Baltadji showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Azzedine Saïfi, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute of the match Dida Ferrah sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Giss Baltadji skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Shrewsbury's Maamar Benhamou got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Samir Zafour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Affi Deriassa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giss Baltadji came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Balsall Common's Azzedine Saïfi. But to his dismay, Azzedine Saïfi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Azzedine Saïfi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balsall Common's supporters rose to their feet, but Azzedine Saïfi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giss Baltadji breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giss Baltadji took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aydril Khelfellah, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lyazzide Zahouania could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Faouzi Nabil made a huge save. If Hicham Zenia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Samir Zafour recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 64 minutes, Hicham Zenia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shrewsbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hicham Zenia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute Lyazzide Zahouania shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faouzi Nabil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute Samir Zafour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faouzi Nabil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faouzi Nabil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samir Zafour's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Maarouf Benguedoudj charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maarouf Benguedoudj the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th match minute, Shrewsbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Azzouz Selmi to maneuver through the defense. Balsall Common's Dida Ferrah couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Shrewsbury. Giss Baltadji showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Azzedine Saïfi in the 81st minute of the match. Lyazzide Zahouania fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faouzi Nabil having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Samir Zafour got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Shrewsbury walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
