If Afennich Madjer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Abdel Hamid Lacen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anis Metref was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. In the 11th minute, Afennich Madjer fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Anis Metref, passed just outside the right post. Abbes Sellal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Mohan Saïb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Abdel Hamid Lacen could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Anis Metref however easily saved by the left post. Abdelaziz Larfaoui hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Youssef Kahouadji came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Thatcham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Youssef Kahouadji couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the game, Badis Cavalli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Formby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thatcham City the free kick. Abbes Sellal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute Abbes Sellal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohan Saïb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdel Hamid Lacen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Anis Metref tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thatcham City's Anis Metref played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afennich Madjer in the 37th minute of play. A collision led to Thatcham City getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Khalil Al-Jazairia hit a great ball. Formby's Abdel Hamid Lacen got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 0-1 became the score in the 44th minute when Youssef Kahouadji elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abbes Sellal to strike the kick off in the second half. If Afennich Madjer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anis Metref took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdel Hamid Lacen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anis Metref showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdel Hamid Lacen in the 72nd minute of the match. Buba Zerari kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Lamine Saadane took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anis Metref. Thatcham City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Afennich Madjer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anis Metref having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Thatcham City's Abbes Sellal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mohan Saïb narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Boughera Bencheikh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formby's supporters rose to their feet, but Boughera Bencheikh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anis Metref breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Thatcham City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Formby:s goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afennich Madjer in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anis Metref prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Youssef Kahouadji got free with Mohan Saïb in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 98 played minutes Formby got a freekick which was hit by Boughera Bencheikh. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
