The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 0-1 became the score in the 23rd minute when Hocine Kouidri elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, Lewisham FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ilian Mohamed came free, but Omar Maghili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Lewisham FC booed when Openshaw was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Abid didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 49 minutes into the match, Lewisham FC's goalkeeper Omar Maghili had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adam Abid. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hocine Kouidri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Badis El Ouafi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hocine Kouidri in the 53rd minute of play. Islem Ayad succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 54th playminute. Islem Ayad who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Badis El Ouafi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Hocine Kouidri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 70 played minutes Openshaw got a freekick which was hit by Adam Belaout. In the 79th minute, Ilian Mohamed hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 minutes, Mustapha Hamdaoui mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lewisham FC and the Openshaw players grew even worse after the yellow card.
