An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Mohand in the 17th minute of play forced Newcastle's goalkeeper Zahid Saïfi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Newcastle fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Newcastle's Mareks Hamšík looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Nasserredine Bouguerra kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. With a little luck, Jeunesse Sportive Kabylie's Mansour Abdi got control of the ball when Amar Yahi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mareks Hamšík received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Mansour Abdi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mareks Hamšík was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 28th minute. Newcastle's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Mansour Abdi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fouad Zerara in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute Fouad Merbah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zahid Saïfi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mareks Hamšík had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samir Hamdani in the 44th minute of play forced Newcastle's goalkeeper Zahid Saïfi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Mansour Abdi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mareks Hamšík in the 52nd minute of play. Mareks Hamšík might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mansour Abdi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mareks Hamšík ran back to his position shaking his head. Sid Ahmed Fadhil kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Hameur Ihaddaden ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zahid Saïfi was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Fouad Merbah struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Zahid Saïfi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jeunesse Sportive Kabylie. Amar Yahi kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Amar Yahi hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Zahid Saïfi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adam Mohand went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score.
