If Custódio Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Shanklin FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Beaconsfield City were awarded a corner in the 94th minute after Shanklin FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Simão Almeida took the corner. Hélio Teive sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Shanklin FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
