Congleton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Serineu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 14 played minutes Street Fighter got a freekick which was hit by Custódio Teive. With his leg Emílio Novais managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Congleton's Flavio Quilempan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 17th minute, Henrique Serineu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Street Fighter's Carlos Mantorras got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Henrique Serineu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Emílio Novais 38 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henrique Serineu in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emílio Novais prevented the ball from getting in the gole. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Street Fighter's Carlos Mantorras slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Miguel Sá. That made the score 2-1 after 55 minutes of play. Emílio Novais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Quilempan in the 61st minute of the match. Flavio Quilempan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emílio Novais having to make a save. In the 69th minute, Henrique Serineu made a precise shot to the right of Emílio Novais. Street Fighter's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Quilempan in the 72nd minute of play forced Street Fighter's goalkeeper Emílio Novais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 74th minute by Carlos Mantorras got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 76 played minutes Street Fighter got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Ramos. After having played for 85 minutes, Carlos Mantorras managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Street Fighter's Emílio Novais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Serineu in the 94th minute of play. In the 96thth minute of the game Fábio Zamora who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Street Fighter's Emílio Novais was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Congleton had won after a very even match.
