Edmundo De Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Borges in the 19th minute of play. If Evaristo Dikaté had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salford's Carlos Polido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Dikaté in the 39th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Evaristo Regalado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scawsby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo Regalado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Emílio Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Salford's zone, Evaristo Dikaté stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Polido came out of the goal and Evaristo Dikaté tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Carlos Polido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Dikaté, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, Salford's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Dikaté came free, but Carlos Polido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Polido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Dikaté in the 67th minute of play. In the 74th minute, Evaristo Regalado made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Polido. Salford's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Alda Vasques made a great header on Scawsby's corner, it was just that Salford's Carlos Polido managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 97th minute, Felíx Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Scawsby played a much better game than Salford and deserved their victory. The Salford players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
