Rayleigh City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Lima Clemente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Custódio Jacinto made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Gregório Sampaio sent off a good shot on target. When the match had been going on for 19 minutes, Peterlee's Teta Teive got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Custódio Jacinto. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Custódio Canales got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Custódio Jacinto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gregório Sampaio in the 29th minute. Rayleigh City's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Custódio Canales 31 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of Peterlee:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rayleigh City:s goal.
