Hernani Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Zamora in the 21st minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Ivó Pereira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CF Valentes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ware AFC the free kick. In the 25th match minute, CF Valentes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivó Pereira to maneuver through the defense. After 26 played minutes, Ware AFC's Tadeu Odemira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alda Almeida came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ware AFC reached it. The supporters of Ware AFC booed when CF Valentes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivó Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Evaristo Zamora was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CF Valentes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ware AFC the free kick. A collision led to CF Valentes getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Evaristo Zamora hit a great ball. Hernani Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivó Pereira in the 30th minute of play. Evaristo Zamora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Hernani Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evaristo Zamora got in the 38th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Hernani Melo handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Evaristo Zamora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernani Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Simões to make the kick off. Rodrigo Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alda Almeida having to interfere. Evaristo Curvelo's late challenge caught a Ware AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evaristo Curvelo helped the player get up and apologised. After 53 played minutes CF Valentes got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Curvelo. Evaristo Zamora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Melo having to interfere. Evaristo Curvelo kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Vítor Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. CF Valentes's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hernani Melo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vítor Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hortêncio Matta kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Ware AFC's Carlos Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute Evaristo Zamora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernani Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CF Valentes's Evaristo Zamora got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Evaristo Zamora's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hernani Melo was relentless in the 89th minute of the game.
