One of Sheringham:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ware AFC:s goal. Tadeu Odemira shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ware AFC's goalkeeper Hernani Melo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pompílio Quilempan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Melo having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Edmundo Tenória ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hernani Melo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pompílio Quilempan to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Ware AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Odemira. Rodrigo Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Maurtio having to interfere. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ware AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Teodoro Bastos was slow to take the kick. During this time Sheringham's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Sheringham's corner Henrique Odemira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hernani Melo quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Sheringham's Luís Maurtio got control of the ball when Rodrigo Viegas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Edmundo Tenória had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hernani Melo. Ware AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmundo Tenória was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Carlos Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Viegas got free with Luís Maurtio in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute, Carlos Simões fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Luís Maurtio, passed just outside the right post. In the 89th minute, Ware AFC's Carlos Simões dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Eduardo Odemira hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
