The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Maurito showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Pepetela in the 23rd minute of play forced Peterlee's goalkeeper Zé Maurito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teta Teive hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Carlos Polido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregório Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Salford's Simão Pepetela got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 37 minutes of play, Salford's Emílio Borges made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Maurito was left in no man's land by his defense there! Henrique Fontão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Carlos Polido made a huge save. Salford's Carlos Polido proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Salford from getting a goal against them.

Zé Maurito made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emílio Borges in the 52nd minute. In the 60th minute Gregório Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Polido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simão Pepetela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Zé Maurito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Peterlee's Henrique Fontão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. But to his dismay, Gregório Sampaio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Gregório Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Carlos Polido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 90 played minutes Peterlee got a freekick which was hit by Nito Viegas. After 90 played minutes, Salford's Eduardo Curvelo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zé Maurito came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Salford reached it. Carlos Polido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregório Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Peterlee were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Salford for a fine match.
